The Pact for Science and Technology in Extremadura, in its commitment to the Structure, refers to the development of a Network of Specialised Technology Incubators, with major European and global trends such as Climate Change and Sustainable Development, Energy Storage, ICT, Biotechnology, Agribusiness 4.0 and Bioeconomy and Circular Economy.
In this context, after the High Technology Incubator in Bioeconomy and Circular Economy in Mérida and the Bioincubator specialising in Health and Life Sciences in Cáceres, the Regional Government continues to consolidate the concept of this Network, with the start-up of a new incubator specialising in virtual reality and augmented reality.
The National and Regional Government will invest 2 million euros in this infrastructure, which is expected to be up and running by the end of 2023.
The incubator is aimed at technology-based companies that want to develop new products and entrepreneurial projects. Its applications cover the field of video games, but also fashion, the purchase and sale of flats, transport and logistics, as well as human resources management, security, advertising and medicine, among others.
The incubator will be equipped with laboratories with state-of-the-art technological equipment with virtual environment programming rooms equipped with computer systems, screens and servers, as well as audiovisual equipment for training and dissemination activities.
The creation of this incubator based on augmented reality and virtual reality aims to become a global hub of talent and digital innovation. An example of progress, dynamisation and attraction of digital talent and quality employment aimed at strengthening the emerging innovative and research fabric in Extremadura.
Companies linked to the Badajoz Hub within the framework of the Novexport project will be able to benefit from the resources made available to them in this incubator, which will allow them to develop solutions related to the use of digital images, satellite data, etc., for their internationalisation process.
